Kids Yoga

East Side Tae Kwon Do, which has won countless awards and generated much positive press highlighting its expert kids martial arts instruction, is excited to open East Side Yoga: a yoga school for kids and families. We teach traditional yoga to kids, as well as our special Warrior Yoga classes. These athletic classes are a fusion of Tae Kwon Do and yoga. They particularly appeal to boys.

Yoga and martial arts were originally taught and practiced together by ancient Indian warriors.  East Side Yoga is excited to bring back this tradition with Kids’ Warrior Yoga Classes. These vinyasa (flow) yoga classes emphasize proper technique and alignment using asanas (poses) in the warrior series, and those asanas most appealing to kids.

All of East Side Yoga’s classes are developmentally appropriate and taught by experienced instructors. The benefits of yoga for kids are many, including:

  • Greater strength and flexibility
  • Increased body awareness
  • Emotional stability
  • Mindfulness of others
  • Peace of mind

Because yoga strengthens the mind/body connection, kids who practice yoga consistently are able to excel at most of the other mental/physical activities they pursue later in life.
